A teenager who has appeared in the youth court for an online threat that led to Wellington High School going into lockdown in November has had his bail conditions reduced for good behaviour.

The 16 year old is yet to admit or deny charges, which include possession of a firearm and ammunition.

In December, Judge John Walker granted the teen bail to a specified address, with electronic monitoring and 24-hour supervision by a community agency.

Today Judge Walker allowed the teen to stop wearing his electronic bracelet between 7am and 7pm.

He says the teen has exhibited good behaviour over the past five months and the bracelet is preventing him from participating in healthy hobbies like diving.
