The former chair of the Commerce Commission has been appointed to the board of the Accident Compensation Corporation.

Paula Rebstock chaired the Government's Welfare Working Group which reported recently on changing the welfare system.

Ms Rebstock and actuary Jill Spooner are filling vacancies left on the eight-member ACC board after two resignations.

Meanwhile, ACC Minister Nick Smith has announced that ACC's chief executive Jan White is to leave the organisation in December.

Dr White has chosen not to renew her contract.
