A man police describe as an anti-royalist has been arrested at a venue in Auckland that Prince Charles and his wife Camilla were visiting.
Police say a 74-year-old man from Mangere was arrested after midday near Britomart and charged with preparing to commit a crime, namely assault.
He will appear in the Auckland District Court on Tuesday.
The royal couple were not at the venue when the man was arrested.
