A real estate chain is arranging an information seminar to update Australian investors and expatriate landlords on the state of the Christchurch property market.

The firm, Ray White, claims to hold the largest property management portfolio in Christchurch, with 2400 properties under management, and sells one in every four properties.

Sydney-based director Dan White says he's been surprised about the level of interest across the Tasman about how the Christchurch property market is faring.

He says the intention of the seminar, being held in Sydney, is to give factual information.

Mr White says he's personally optimistic about the outlook for the real estate sector in Christchurch.

The seminar on Tuesday will include presentations from developers, residential and commercial interests and the New Zealand Institute of Architects ambassador for the Christchurch rebuild, Ian Athfield.
