In need of extra credits over the summer, Massey design students unleashed their creativity onto the landscape at the Wellington Botanical Gardens over Christmas and New Year.
“What more could you want from a paper? Lighting the botanic gardens is so fun,” says spacial design student Abbie Phillips.
The trade-off for having to do uni papers over their summer was being able to work in the gardens, Lucy Devich says. “It's a great way to start your summer off, too, just coming up here and walking around”.
Groups chose themes dear to them; from fairies to the Fukushima earthquake, they had to work within their budgets – and despite being broke students, the results are quite spectacular.
