A 33-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a firearms incident in Nelson last month.
On 30 December, a man was found with what appeared to be a gunshot injury at St Vincent Street.
Police said a 33-year-old man was arrested at a Gladstone Road address in Richmond this morning.
He was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The man is due to appear in Nelson District Court today.
Police said inquiries were ongoing and further charges were possible.
