Terminally ill cancer patients in Samoa can now withdraw their contributions to the National Provident Fund.

The fund's chief executive, Pauli Prince Suhren, said medical certification was required to qualify for the assistance.
He said the new programme was separate from the current medical referral incentive, which grants loans for overseas medical treatment.
