A controversial Chinese developer building a resort on Fiji's Malolo Island has appeared in court.
The company, Freesoul Real Estate Development, last month outraged locals who claimed it was damaging beaches, mangroves and reefs.
Freesoul is charged with one count of undertaking unauthorised developments, and one count of failing to comply with an environmental prohibition notice.
A project officer with the company, Saula Sovanivalu, represented it at the Nadi Magistrates' Court on Thursday morning.
The case was adjourned to 26 April.
