No transfer deal yet for Beckham

A deadline for Los Angeles Galaxy and AC Milan to reach a deal on David Beckham staying in Italy, has passed without agreement.

Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber earlier set Friday as the time limit.

Beckham is on loan to Milan until 9 March, but wants to stay at the club full-time to play in Serie A football.

Galaxy now expect him to return next month.

Italian media speculate that a deal could still be reached irrespective of the deadline.

Beckham has the option of buying out his contract and has a clause which means he can leave Galaxy for nothing in October.

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is due to hold a news conference on Saturday.
