At least a dozen people have died in mudslides and floods caused by Typhoon Souledor in eastern China, authorities say.
Tens of thousands of residents were evacuated as it approached, and thousands more left their homes as it moved north up the coast.
Some areas got more than half a metre of rain in 24 hours - the heaviest for a century.
Earlier, the typhoon caused similar devastation in Taiwan, where it killed five people.
