The Breakers' struggles in the NBL have continued with a heavy 97-80 loss to the second-placed Tasmania Jackjumpers in Auckland.

A disjointed performance in front of their home fans resulted in a ninth defeat in 13 games for the Breakers, who are ninth in the 10-team league and looking increasingly unlikely of reaching the playoffs.

They never looked like toppling the Tasmanians after losing the second quarter 23-8 to trail by 17 points at halftime.

The Jackjumpers were able to steal a massive 25 offensive rebounds which handed them numerous second chances, many of which were capitalised on by United States guard Jordon Crawford, who produced a game-high 30 points.

Will Magnay pulled down 12 rebounds and scored 12 points as the visitors dominated under the basket.

Forward Anthony Lamb was strongest in the tight exchanges for the Breakers, mixing nine rebounds with 15 points while fellow-American Park Jackson-Cartwright was the most reliable source of points, with 25.
