The Northern Marianas has eased restrictions imposed to stop the spread of Covid-19 even as it recorded its 47th case yesterday.

The latest positive test was a returning resident identified upon arrival through airport screening.
Even as the CNMI's coronavirus cases have risen over past couple of weeks, the government is now allowing public facilities to be open between 5am to 1pm.
The amended directive also states that social gatherings at public beaches are now allowed and curfew hours have been lowered to between 2am and 4am.
Despite the easing of some restrictions, the CNMI remains at Level Blue, which is still one step from the safest level.
CNMI Governor, Ralph Torres, said restrictions had been eased due to the islands' efforts to keep its number of coronavirus cases down, which he attributed to the community who had been adhering to guidance from health officials.
Of the total 47 confirmed cases in the CNMI, 23 cases had been identified through port of entry screening procedures.
Of those, 19 cases originated from the US mainland, one from a US territory, and three others from a foreign country.
