A Christchurch woman is dead and another is injured after a collision inland from Greymouth yesterday
that closed the road for seven hours.
A Tasman Police District spokeswoman says the woman killed was riding a motorbike that collided with a car on Arnold Valley Road, Moana around 3.20pm yesterday afternoon.
She was riding with a group of eight motorcycles and died at the scene.
A Christchurch woman riding in the same group was flown to Greymouth Hospital with a broken leg after she lost control and crashed when she hit debris from the first crash.
Police said the dead woman's name would be released once next of kin had been notified.
