12:20 pm on 9 April 2010

The police in Samoa are hunting four men who robbed a Westpac bank branch at Vaitele industrial zone this morning.

A bank employee says the four masked men came to the bank branch in a taxi and pointed guns and knives at the staff and took off with all ATM and teller cash.

No comments are available from the police and the management of the Westpac bank in Apia as police are carrying out an operation to find the alleged bank robbers.

It is the first bank robbery in Samoa.
