The Premier of Niue, Toke Talagi, has easily survived a vote of no confidence brought by MP, Terry Coe.
Mr Coe says he wanted to raise concerns about the administration's failure to solve the critical issues affecting the country.
He says the people want to see measures to stop more people leaving the island and for improvements in the key infrastructure.
But the vote was 11 to six in Mr Talagi's favour.
The Premier says he had no doubts about his support after two key pieces of legislation were passed last week.
"So that indicated to me last week that people were still satisfied with my leadership and my Cabinet. So I wasn't too disturbed, if you wish, with the voting this morning or what was going to happen. I was very pleased in fact that we have remained solid in our attempts as independent members of the Assembly to form and continue to do things as a Government to ensure that we can do the best that we can for the people of Niue."
