Sir Elton John is expecting to perform all his remaining shows despite having to cut short his concert in Auckland last night because he has pneumonia.
The performer stopped part-way through his three-hour Sunday show in Auckland, having lost his voice after being diagnosed with a mild form of pneumonia.
He seemed tearful and apologised before being escorted from the stage after attempting to sing Daniel after struggling through Candle in the Wind.
"Elton John was disappointed and deeply upset at having to end his Auckland concert early last night," his promoter said.
She said he was resting today, with doctors confident the 72 year old would recover.
"At this stage, all remaining shows will go ahead as planned."
He is scheduled to perform at Mount Smart Stadium on Tuesday and Thursday nights as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
