A teenage boy has been arrested after a stabbing on the grounds of the University of Sydney this morning.
Paramedics were called about 8.35am after reports of a stabbing near Parramatta Road in Camperdown where they found a man suffering from a single stab wound.
The 22-year-old was treated at the scene and taken to nearby Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers established a crime scene and were told the teenager boarded a bus on Parramatta Road after the incident.
A short time later officers arrested a 14-year-old boy near Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Neither person was believed to be known to one another.
Police said there was no ongoing risk to the community.
A spokesperson for the university said there may be an increased security and police presence on campus while investigations continue as a precautionary measure.
"The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and members of the community is our priority, and we continue to work with authorities," the spokesperson said.
