Missing octagenarian hunter walks out

An 84-year-old Feilding hunter missing for two days in Nelson Lakes National Park arrived at a remote farmhouse on Wednesday evening after trekking more than 20km across rugged country.

Roy Marston was reported missing on Monday evening when he failed to rendezvous with his hunting companions near Lake Rotoroa.

Search teams including a helicopter failed to find any trace of him .

Police say Mr Marston arrived at a remote Tutaki Valley farmhouse about 7pm.

He was being checked at Murchison Hospital but appears to be in good health.
