Coronavirus: Govt pledges $11m boost as tourism numbers fall

The government has announced an $11 million package to help the tourism industry as it faces the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern made the announcement at her post-cabinet press conference on Monday afternoon.

She says the government is being pro-active to help the sector, which along with the primary industry, and education sectors, is feeling the brunt of the virus's economic impact.
