The man accused of causing the death of a teenager in a violent attack in Auckland has had his bid for continued name suppression granted.
Eli Francis Holtz, who was 18, died in hospital following the attack in the early hours of a Saturday morning in January.
Mr Holtz was the passenger of a car which had stopped at the intersection of Wellesley and Queen Streets when the accused assaulted him.
The accused, a 30 year-old-man, appeared briefly in the High Court in Auckland this morning, where his application for continued name suppression was granted.
