Defending champion Novak Djokovic has swept past David Goffin of Belgium in straight sets to storm into the semi-finals for the ninth time.

The world number one took another giant stride towards matching Bjorn Borg's five titles at the All England Club with an emphatic 6-4 6-0 6-2 quarter-final triumph.

The top seed will play Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut who beat Argentina's Guido Pella in four sets.

Roger Federer sealed his place in the last four for a 13th time with yet another milestone moment at the All England Club.

Setting records seemingly every time he steps on court, Federer became the first man in history to register 100 singles wins at a grand slam event with a 4-6 6-1 6-4 6-4 victory over an inspired Kei Nishikori.

"It was difficult. The beginning was brutal - Kei came out smashing return winners and I had to make some adjustments trying to turn it around in that first set. Kei was the better player," Federer said.

The Swiss marvel's four-set progression sets up a box-office showdown with great rival Rafael Nadal, who beat American Sam Querrey in straight sets in his quarter-final.

Nadal soaked up 22 thunderbolt aces to flatten Querrey 7-5 6-2 6-2.

The Spaniard made a jaw-dropping start to his quarter-final as he won all 12 points during his first three service games.

The unseeded American might have had his serve on fire but everything else was misfiring.

Nadal's victory meant it was the first time more than one Spanish man had reached the Wimbledon semis in the same year.
