Samoa's former minister of Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Health, Mulitalo Siafausa Vui, has been found guilty in the District Court of one count of possession of a firearm.

The court has ruled for his conviction to be discharged.

His two other criminal charges of insulting words and presenting a firearm have been dismissed.

The criminal charges against the former politician was the result of a land dispute between Mulitalo and a high ranking orator of Vaimoso village in February.

The high ranking orator, Toma'aga'une Kelekolio, recently won a Lands and Titles court case to banish Mulitalo, his wife and their children from Vaimoso village.
