Auckland Airport-bound traffic delayed by truck fire

08:16 am on 21 March 2017

Motorists heading to Auckland Airport this morning are being warned of delays, after a truck broke down on the main road to the airport.

Auckland Airport tweeted that the incident had been caused by a "small truck fire".

It said the truck had now been moved and the road was being reopened, but warned that traffic would be slow as the backlog cleared.

Earlier, NZTA said diversions were in place, with the southbound lane on George Bolt Memorial Drive closed near the John Goulter Drive roundabout.

It said motorists should consider using Puhinui Rd.
