The man accused of the manslaughter of Hawera toddler Esme Claire Kinraid last month has been named as her father, Philip Murray Kinraid.
The 27-year-old did not appear at a hearing in the High Court in New Plymouth this morning where his name suppression was lifted and bail conditions set.
The chemical engineer has yet to enter a plea to charges of manslaughter and assault on a child.
He was charged after emergency services were called to a Hawera address at about 11pm on Friday June 26.
Ambulance personnel attended to the two-year-old girl but were unable to revive her.
Justice Raynor Asher bailed Kinraid to an address in Dunedin and ordered him to report to the police twice a week.
He will reappear in court on 18 September.
