Former senator sworn in as American Samoan judge

The former senator for Alataua District, Paepae Iosefa Faiai, has been sworn-in as a new associate judge of the High Court of American Samoa.

Chief Justice Michael Kruse administered the oath of office on Tuesday.

A retired US Army pilot, the new judge was a pilot for Samoa Air and flew the American Samoan government aircraft, Segaula.

Immediately after he was sworn in, Associate Judge Faiai got down to work, presiding in jury selection for a criminal case on the High court calendar.
