One person is dead after a fire broke out in a boarding house in South Auckland.

Emergency services were called just before 6pm to the Wembley Private Hotel on Moa Street in Ōtāhuhu.
The fire has now been extinguished but one truck is still at the scene.
There were no other injuries.
Police and fire investigatiors say they will be investigating the fire for at least a few more days.
