One person has died following a crash in Hawke's Bay earlier this week.
The accident happened on the Hawke's Bay Expressway on Wednesday, 14 August. Police said the vehicle crashed on State Highway 2, near the Kennedy Road off-ramp, around 12pm.
The driver - a woman - was critically injured and transferred to Wellington Hospital.
She died on Friday.
Ministry of Transport data showed up until midnight Friday, there had been 162 road deaths so far in 2024 - considerably down on previous years at the same point.
