Samoa's ruling party presents manifesto

16:09 pm on 23 February 2011

Samoa's ruling Human Rights Protection party or HRPP has launched its manifesto ahead of next week's election.

It has outlined projects in areas such as education, health, tourism, agriculture and cultural developments as the main focus for the next five years if the party is re-elected.

The leader and caretaker Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, says the manifesto will be wasted if the electors and voters will not make a wise decision to vote the right people to lead the country for the next five-year parliamentary term.

He has reminded the public of the good work the HRPP has done since it won the first of seven consecutive elections in 1982.

The HRPP is promising to build an airport at Aleipata district where the new wharf at Satitoa is located operating travels between Samoa and American Samoa.

It is also promising to increase salaries for all employees after another increase in the last three years.

Hundreds of supporters are taking part in the launching today on Savaii Island after Upolu Island yesterday.
