A person struck by a car in Dunedin has died, police say.
The person had been walking on Carroll Street in central Dunedin at about 2.30pm today when they were hit by the car, police said.
They were taken to hospital in a critical condition, but died this evening.
In a statement, police said they were investigating what had happened.
