A primary school in Pāpāmoa, Tauranga will be closed on Friday due to the likelihood of a positive case of Covid-19.
Tahatai Coast School principal Matt Skilton said on the school website that there was a "strong" likelihood of a positive result within the school community.
The close down was to enable testing for all students and school whānau as advised by the Ministry of Health, he said.
"It is times like this that we have been preparing for and I know we can work through this together," Skilton said on the school's website.
"We are receiving full assistance and guidance from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education."
A testing station will be set up at the school and run from 9am to 6pm.
