More than 4000 New Zealanders have taken less than a day to list their unwanted Christmas presents on TradeMe.
Spokesperson Logan Mudge said about 50,000 people have been online, searching for a bargain.
Mr Mudge said there were more than 166,000 searches for unwanted gifts on Boxing Day last year, and he expected this year to draw the same kind of numbers looking for a bargain.
He said this year the team at Trademe had seen some odd presents for sale.
"Someone has listed their own Christmas card - it's made out to them - and they decided to cash in on that. There's a batter dispenser, I assume for pancakes, and a Minecraft head and some Star Wars things, including a stormtrooper cookie jar."
Mr Mudge said he expected selfie sticks, socks and Adele CDs to be commonly unwanted gifts this festive season.
