Fiji's first major sporting event since Covid a success

To Fiji now, where earlier this month the first major sporting event since the country emerged from almost two years of Covid lockdowns was successfully staged.

The Fiji Bitter Wairikiki 7s Carnival, which was held in Taveuni on the weekend of 14 December, involved 44 mens Sevens teams, 32 under 21 teams, 8 womens rugby teams , 40 volleyball teams and 24 netball teams.

Our correspondent in Fiji, Lice Movono, who is from Taveuni spoke with tournament director Iowane Gade and began by asking how difficult it was to bring together.
