The Taranaki golfer Grant Moorhead says there's would be no better place for a breakthrough win than on his home course at the Taranaki Open starting tomorrow.

Moorhead, the local professional at the New PlymouthClub, has been the most consistent player throughout the Charles Tour events, and those of its predecessor the GTNZ series, set up by Greg Turner.

He has seven top-10 finishes in the series, an initiative by New Zealand Golf and the NZPGA for home-based and young touring professionals along with the country's leading male and female.

After some time out of the game, Moorhead, takes on a strong field including recent Wairakei Open winner Doug Holloway and Tauranga Open champion Josh Geary.
