Members of Christchurch City's business community say they would like more support from the city council to boost trade following September's earthquake.

A public forum in Christchurch on Saturday discussed the rebuilding of the city and how businesses in the city have been affected.

The Central City Business Association says there are a number of things the council and Government could be doing to get things up and running and in better shape then they are now.

Association manager Paul Lonsdale, says the council could implement such things as free two-hour parking almost immediately, to improve business.
