Auckland City has been beaten 3-0 by Egyptian side Al Ahly at the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.
The Aucklanders were competitive in the first half, before Hussein Elshahat grabbed the opening goal just before the break.
Al Ahly then took control of the game in the second half with Mohamed Sherif adding their second in the 56th minute.
Percy Tau scored their third just before full-time.
City defender Adam Mitchell was sent off in the last minute for a foul which was deemed to have denied Al Ahly a goal scoring opportunity.
City managed just one shot on goal during the game.
Auckland City, who were playing a record tenth time at the event, now head for home with $770,000 in their coffers.
Al Ahly now go on to play MLS side the Seattle Sounders in the second round.
South American champions Flamengo and European champions Real Madrid enter the tournament at the semi-final stage.
