A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a car in North Canterbury.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Lineside Road, part of State Highway 71 between Kaiapoi and Rangiora, about 1pm this afternoon.
Lineside Road remains closed at its overbridge.
Motorists are being asked to take alternate routes.
