Work to restart at Fiji's Momi Bay Resort

Fiji's Momi Bay resort is set to recommence construction in the second quarter of this year.

Fiji National Provident Fund chief executive, Aisake Taito, confirmed this to Fiji Live online, adding that in the 2013 Budget, government had set aside 80 million US dollars to complete the project.

Preparation works to resume construction began early last year with consultations as well as reviewing expressions of interest to complete the project.

The resort, which is about a 45-minute drive from Nadi, is owned by the FNPF since the Fiji Government took sole ownership in 2010 following the collapse of New Zealand-based Bridgecorp in 2007.
