Samoa's Victim Support Group has been asked for help by a mother whose daughter was the victim of an alleged police assault which left her with bruises on her neck and arms.
The victim was in police custody for a day last week.
The mother says her daughter's husband is a police officer who she claims was involved in the assault with three other officers, including a policewoman.
The Victim Support Group says it receives a number of complaints about police assault and the organisation is helping victims' families to file formal complaints.
