Just a couple of New Zealanders have been nominated for the International Cricket Council player awards for 2011.

There are no Black Caps in the list for Cricketer or Test player of the year.

Tim Southee is one of the one day player of the year nominations.

Hamish Bennett and Kane Williamson are nominated for emerging player of the year, while Sara McGlashan is up for the women's cricketer of the year award.

Billy Bowden is nominated for umpire of the year.

Australia's standing in the world game was laid bare with all rounder Shane Watson the only player to make the long list of candidates for cricketer of the year.

Eight of England's Ashes winners were nominated with captain Andrew Strauss leading the way, joined by fellow opener Alastair Cook, Jonathan Trott, Ian Bell, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, Chris Tremlett and James Anderson.

The award-winners will be named at a ceremony in London on September 12th.

India have just the three nominees for player of the year with Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and injured paceman Zaheer Khan all contenders for the Sir Garfield Sobers award, while they are joined by bowlers Ishant Sharma and Harbhajan Singh in the Test player category.
