The police say they're taking reports of an electric scooter thrown at cars on Wellington's motorway extremely seriously.
They say that about 11.30pm they received reports of an e-scooter thrown from a bridge onto the urban motorway below.
A driver says it nearly went through their windscreen and they had to swerve to miss it.
The police say they want to remind those responsible that throwing any items from bridges poses a serious risk to vehicles and those inside them.
They're asking motorists to remain vigilant and call 111 if they spot suspicious activity.
