The Northern Marianas Department of Public Health has issued a health alert on swine flu.
The Health Secretary says if people get sick, especially if they develop a flu-like illness, they should avoid or limit contact with others and report to the hospital for immediate medical care.
The director of Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Pete Untalan, says they have elevated surveillance at the hospital, tightened testing, and are monitoring for advisories and will pass them on to other agencies.
Meanwhile, the Quarantine director Richard Seman says as yet there is no temporary ban on pork products from the United States or restrictions on travel.
