Auckland Council was expected to receive a review into contamination near the Harbour Bridge today.

The review was ordered late last year after decade-old tests showing contamination with heavy metals and hydrocarbons at the bridge's north end, came to light.

The Transport Agency Waka Kotahi said it had a draft, which it would pass to the council today.

The council concluded in a study not released to the public in 2011, that there was no threat to human health.

NZTA said it was considering the new review's findings.

Its response to them, and the final report, would be released to local residents later, though it could not put a date on that.
