The Marianas Visitors Authority says the number of people ariving from Japan is continuing to drop because of a fall in the number of ariline seats available.

The Authority's data showed that the Northern Marianas received nearly 33,000 Japanese tourists last month ...a one per cent drop from the same month last year.

This was the fourth month since the start of the fiscal year, that Japan arrivals had registered a decline.

The Authority's managing director, Vicky Benavente, told the Saipan Tribune that she was working closely with travel partners both in Japan and the CNMI to restore positive growth in visitor arrivals from this market.

Japan is the main source of visitors to CNMI.
