Samoa associate minister to stand trial on negligent driving charge

10:53 am on 3 February 2012

A first time MP and Samoa's associate minister for finance, Peseta Vaifou Tevaga, has been charged with negligent driving causing injuries.

He was allegedly driving a government vehicle when he was involved in an accident last year.

The associate minister is denying the charge.

The trial was scheduled to start this week however he has failed to appear which results to the court accepting a request from the prosecution for a warrant to arrest the government MP.
