The Government says legal action will continue against Carter Holt Harvey for supplying allegedly leaky materials to schools.
It follows a High Court decision to block an attempt by the building supplier to have the Ministry of Education's product liability claim against it struck out.
Associate Education Minister Nikki Kaye said on Wednesday the Government supports the ministry continuing to pursue all legal avenues against manufacturers that supplied materials for use in school buildings where weather-tightness problems later occurred.
Ms Kaye said the ministry has successfully settled more than 40 claims relating to leaky buildings and is the first government agency to lodge a major product liability claim.
