While jobs in the farming sector may be plumetting, a booming housing market appears to be having a flow-on effect for some related industries.

The latest Seek Employment report reveals that the number of jobs advertised in the farming, animals and conservation categories has dropped from 269 last July to 187 in July this year, a fall of 23 percent.
The report also shows design and architecture positions are experiencing the largest growth in new job ads for any industry.
Opportunities in those fields grew by 57 percent year-on-year to July, with more than 460 design and architecture jobs advertised in July alone.
Seek said Auckland and Bay of Plenty had experienced the biggest rises in the number of jobs in those fields, reflecting the huge growth in property sales there.
Federated Farmers national president William Rolleston said the drop in farming sector jobs was not surprising.
He said as the dairy payout had gone down, farmers were looking to reduce herd sizes, feed and cut extra costs, which had a flow on effect to other areas of the industry, including jobs.
