A journalist at Parliament's Press Gallery who returned a positive rapid antigen test for Covid-19 has since tested negative.
The person had taken a PCR test to confirm verify the results of the RAT test.
At the regular post-Cabinet media conference yesterday Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern acknowledged the Press Gallery's procedures to manage potential positive cases were in place, with increased social distancing and and fewer journalists present.
Ardern said rapid antigen tests were "not always 100 percent accurate".
A positive test would have been the first public case of coronavirus at Parliament since the pandemic began.
