A large plume of smoke seen south of Dunedin is not cause for concern, Fire and Emergency NZ say.
A spokesperson for FENZ said a report was made around 10am on Saturday of smoke on a hillside in Brighton.
When crews arrived, they found it was a controlled burn-off.
No action was required and the Mosgiel crew left the scene less than five minutes after arriving.
