A reconciliation is expected to begin today between students from the University of Papua New Guinea and leading education officials.
The secretary of higher education in PNG, Dr Kavanamur and the UPNG chancellor Dr Nicholas Mann are expected to start a reconciliation process.
This follows more violence yesterday in which students attacked Uni Force Security personnel and allegedly damaged vehicles and other property on the Waigani campus.

Two weeks ago police fired on students at the campus with a number seriously hurt and it is for this the students have been seeking reconciliation.
The NBC Current Issues programme had reported Dr Mann and Professor Kavanamur will initiate a reconciliation process this afternoon.
