Two people have died from Covid-19 while being treated in hospital, the Ministry of Health has announced.
One was a woman in her 80s who was being treated at Middlemore Hospital.
The other was a man in his 90s who was being treated at North Shore Hospital. He had been living at the Edmonton Meadows Care Home before being admitted.
The Ministry said the man had a number of underlying health conditions and was receiving appropriate ward-level care.
"Our thoughts are with their families and friends at this deeply sad time."
